With Elisabeth Schramm and Jacqueline Gilbey
Sunday March 3rd, 2019 10am-4pm
This retreat day is offered as a component of a 12 week Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy course. We have several spots open for people who have some experience with meditation, or have completed either MBSR or MBCT courses in the past.
The intention for this day of retreat is to provide a space to explore meditation and mindful movement (yoga), using the principles of ‘Trauma Sensitive Yoga’ and ‘Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy’. In an environment that is non-judgemental, non-competitive and non- harming, you will be offered guidance, but also be encouraged to make choices for your own practice. In this retreat, we’ll explore the possibilities available to us through mindful movement, and meditation, opening to all of what arises with curiosity and interest.
Please bring your own lunch. Light snacks, tea and wonderful well water will be provided. St. Brigid’s has a full kitchen available for our use to heat food. Dishes, cups etc are also provided. Please do not bring disposable water bottles.
It will be helpful to bring a meditation bench or cushion, blanket and yoga mat. Chairs are available and we will have a few extra supplies if you don’t have your own. St. Brigid’s can be chilly, dress in layers and appropriately for the weather if you would like to walk outdoors at lunch.
